چکیده
Applying spectroelectrochemistry to all-solid-state electrodes composed of poly(3-octylthiophene) (POT) and an ultrathin ion-selective membrane on top, it is possible monitor the dynamic charge transfer (CT) in POT when this event coupled ion transfers (ITs) promoted by absence/presence a selective ionophore membrane. Herein, we report combination empirical theoretical evidence revealing that different molar ratios cation exchanger result modulation non-assisted assisted ITs stoichiometries. This occurs upon same anodic voltammetric scan. The use developed theory together with Sigmoidal−Boltzmann fittings experimental absorbance observed film permits calculating voltammograms ITs. An easy semi-empirical treatment additionally provides calculation binding constants related transfers. Furthermore, approach suitable for both preferred non-preferred ions ionophore, which leads estimation selectivity profile POT-membrane system. extra discovery about number electrons associated CT expected propitiate further research towards maximizing peak resolution experiments. In context, would help future steps prediction responses multi-ionophore membranes backside contacted new redox materials, prospecting hence multi-ion detection optimized analytical features.

At the time of this writing, more than 20 000 publications related to ion-selective electrodes (ISEs)1–7 have been published, with approximately two new ones per day in recent years. Figure 1 shows, for the period between 1970 and 2009, the continuing increase in the number of publications that could be readily recognized as reporting on the preparation or use of ionophore-based ISEs. Clearly, ...
متن کاملRecent developments in high-temperature proton conducting polymer electrolyte membranes
Progress in the area of proton conducting polymer electrolyte membranes is intimately linked with the development of polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cells, and is today largely driven by the insufficient properties of humidified Nafion membranes at temperatures above 100 8C. Recent developments in the field include new ionomers and hybrid membranes containing inorganic nanoparticles to contro...
متن کاملUltrathin, freestanding, stimuli-responsive, porous membranes from polymer hydrogel-brushes.
The fabrication of freestanding, sub-100 nm-thick, pH-responsive hydrogel membranes with controlled nano-morphology, based on modified poly(hydroxyethyl methacrylate) (PHEMA) is presented. Polymer hydrogel-brush films were first synthesized by surface-initiated atom transfer radical polymerization (SI-ATRP) and subsequently detached from silicon substrates by UV-induced photo-cleavage of a spec...
